Scope of work

UX/UI designTour booking websiteOnline paymentsPricing management

The company runs short cruises, kayaking and island-hopping tours, and offers stays at partner hotels around the bay. Most bookings came from agents and social media and were confirmed over chat; every summer peak season, the sales team had to keep checking availability and re-quoting prices by hand.

The BayTrip website was built so independent travelers can book tours and rooms themselves: see departures with seats still available, follow transparent seasonal pricing, pay online and get instant confirmation. As a result, the business depends less on intermediaries and earns a better margin on every booking.

Challenges

01

Prices vary by season and day

Tour and room rates differ between peak and low season, weekends and public holidays, with surcharges for children or single rooms on top.

02

Limited seats per trip

Cruises and rooms have a fixed capacity; cases where two customers pay for the last spot at the same moment must be resolved once and for all.

03

Weather disrupts itineraries

Trips can be postponed because of the weather, which calls for a way to change dates, issue refunds and notify every booked guest at once.

GREEN TECH's solution

We built a set of pricing rules by season, day of the week and guest type on NestJS and PostgreSQL, so the operations team can adjust prices without needing a developer. When a customer starts checkout, the spot is held for a few minutes and only confirmed once payment succeeds, eliminating double bookings. Supabase handles account authentication and image storage, while the Next.js and Tailwind CSS front end puts speed on phones first — the device most travelers use to research and book.

Key features

Visual departure calendar

A monthly calendar shows dates with availability, dates that are filling up and indicative prices, helping travelers compare and choose quickly.

Transparent seasonal pricing

The total is calculated as soon as travelers pick a date, number of guests and room type, with every surcharge clearly itemized.

Tour and stay packages

Combine tours with rooms at partner hotels in a single booking, with package discounts applied automatically.

Online payment and rescheduling

Pay by card, e-wallet or bank transfer; guests can change their dates themselves, in line with the policy, when plans change.

3 min

To complete a booking

After the first peak season, the share of direct bookings rose significantly, reducing reliance on intermediaries and their commissions. The sales team shifted its focus from manual quoting to looking after group travelers and partners. When the weather forces a change of itinerary, notifying guests and moving their dates now takes just a few clicks in the admin panel.
