Project overview
Scope of work
Born on an organically farmed tea estate, the brand already had a steady base of loyal customers from weekend markets and social media, but no sales channel of its own. Product information varied from place to place, orders were written down by hand, and the question customers asked most — “where and when was this tea picked?” — still had no easily verifiable answer.
The project aimed for an e-commerce website that tells the farm's story, loads fast on phones, earns a place in search results for organic tea keywords, and lets buyers scan the QR code on the packaging to follow the journey of the exact batch they're holding.
Challenges
Scattered batch data
Picking dates, processing dates and lab test results lived in notebooks and phone photos, and had to be standardized before going onto the traceability page.
Beautiful but heavy images
High-resolution photos of the tea hills are a brand asset, but using the originals would slow pages down significantly on mobile networks.
Highly competitive keywords
Organic tea keywords are crowded with major marketplaces, calling for a niche content strategy rather than head-on competition.
GREEN TECH's solution
We built the front end with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, statically rendering product pages and articles and serving them through Cloudflare's edge network to cut load times. Behind the scenes, NestJS and PostgreSQL manage orders, inventory and batch data; each batch gets its own QR code linking to a dedicated traceability page. Images are converted to modern formats and only load as visitors scroll to them, making pages lighter while keeping the farm's full visual character — fast for users and easy on bandwidth.
Key features

The website puts the brand in control of its own sales channel instead of relying entirely on social media. The QR traceability page became the touchpoint customers mention most, as well as concrete proof of the brand's commitment to organic farming. Thanks to lean infrastructure, monthly operating costs stay at a level that suits a small agricultural business.
