Scope of work

B2B websiteQuoting portalProduction integrationTesting & handover

The factory produces made-to-order cartons, offset-printed boxes and paper packaging for food, cosmetics and electronics companies. Every quote request arrived by email with dimensions, number of print colors and flute type; sales staff had to work out the price by hand and then wait for the planning department to confirm production capacity, so the whole process often dragged on for several days.

PackFlow has two parts: a B2B website that showcases the factory's capabilities, and an online quoting portal where business customers enter specifications themselves, receive a preliminary price and track their orders. Once an order is confirmed, its data goes straight into the in-house production planning system, with no more manual re-entry.

Challenges

01

A pricing formula with many variables

Prices depend on size, paper weight, number of flute layers, print colors, surface finishing and quantity, plus many exceptions based on the estimator's experience.

02

An aging in-house system

The existing production planning software has no modern API, yet it can't be replaced in the short term either.

03

Demanding B2B buyers

Procurement teams need quote history, drawing versions and access for multiple people within the same company.

GREEN TECH's solution

GREEN TECH worked with the sales team to model the pricing formula as a set of configurable rules, then checked it against hundreds of past quotes to fine-tune it before going live. The website and customer portal use Next.js, NestJS and PostgreSQL; an integration layer syncs orders with the legacy production software through a staging database, letting the factory modernize piece by piece without disrupting production. The project ran in two-week sprints on Jira, with the client reviewing a demo at the end of each sprint; services are packaged with Docker for deployment on the factory's own servers.

Key features

Instant preliminary quotes

Customers choose a box style and enter dimensions, material, print colors and quantity to get an indicative price right in the portal.

Artwork and proof management

Upload design files, keep every version and record proof approval notes, avoiding mix-ups between revisions.

Multi-user business accounts

Set permissions for requesters, approvers and accountants on the customer side, with a complete history of quotes and orders.

Production sync

Confirmed orders flow into the production plan; customers track their status from printing and die-cutting through gluing to delivery.

4 hours

From confirmed order to production schedule

Business customers get preliminary prices the moment they need them, while the sales team can focus on orders with special requirements. The connection to the legacy production system eliminates order re-entry and gives the planning department earlier visibility into demand. The integration layer is designed so the factory can replace its production software in the future without affecting the quoting portal already in use.
